Car Door Making Noise When Opening

On my 99 z28 it would act up every few months more when cold.

The sound of a car door opening and closing. Those noises are normal. Unusual noises coming from inside the door are one of the first symptoms of a potential problem with a power door lock actuator. My drivers side door makes a loud popping noise when it reaches a certain point as i am opening it.

What is causing this and does it mean big trouble soon. It does the same thing in the same place as i close it. The sound is coming from the front of the door. When the door is closed there is a couple clunks then a thud.

It feels fine like it s not loose or anything it s just really loud and annoying. I know on mine the door hinge was making the popping. Anyone know if it just might need something like wd 40 or if i need to take it somewhere. Common steps to stop the squeak.

Like you said the door doesn t catch no rub at the fender etc.
